Club Library
Verein für Höhlenkunde München e.V. maintains an extensive specialist library covering numerous aspects of speleology.
- numerous German and international series of cave journals,
- various other speleological publications (for example conference proceedings, specialist articles, brochures from show caves, etc.),
- a large number of German-language and foreign-language books dealing directly or indirectly with cave-related topics in a broad sense or with subjects relevant to cave exploration.
Among the books are not only academic and specialist works, textbooks, regional guides, and illustrated volumes, but also fiction and children's and young adult literature in which caves or aspects of speleology play a role.
Unfortunately, our library has been stored in boxes for many years because the association has no clubhouse, or even a room, in which the library could be set up. As a result, it is inaccessible to potential readers.
Only the holdings acquired since 2016 are stored privately by the current librarian, but they too remain in boxes because there is no space for shelves. These most recent additions to the library (see the section "New in the club library" since Schlaz 123) can be borrowed with a little advance notice so that the right box can be found.
